The above figures relate to overnight visitors but the Adelaide Hills obviously has a high proportion of day trip visitors given its proximity to Adelaide. The Visits to Regions report which breaks down visitors and expenditure in each region shows the Adelaide Hills receives about 1.168 million domestic day trip visitors annually (based on 3-year average ending March 2017).
