This event will take place on Sunday 10 November at The Cedars, home and property of renowned father and daughter artists Hans and Nora Heysen. It will be a glorious celebration of the spring garden, open house and studios, art, history, Heysen gums, heritage roses, the recreation of Heysen still lifes with real flowers and fruit, walks, fine food, a market table of fresh produce, plants, a splendid programme of speakers on art and blooms, a new exhibition of Heysen memorabilia recently uncovered, and live music in the garden all day. Children's games and discovery tours. Programme: 10am to 3.30pm Live music with Tamarisque. 10.30am Allan Campbell Curator of The Cedars on roses grown and painted by the Heysen family. 12pm Christine McCabe author of “A Garden in the Hills” on ‘My gardening life’. 1.30pm Sandra Kearney researcher for Australian Garden History Society on seasonal records kept by the Heysens of their favoured flowers grown for the garden. 3pm Tansy and Penelope Curtin authors of “Blooms and Brushstrokes” on compiling a floral history of Australian art. 4pm to 6pm Wine and jazz with the Keith Conlon Trio.
