Tasting Australia returns to the Adelaide Hills this April and May for an eight-day celebration of South Australia’s culinary excellence.

The iconic food and wine festival is led by patron and Barossa legend Maggie Beer, creative director Simon Bryant (The Cook and The Chef) and creative curator Jock Zonfrillo (Restaurant Orana).

“The city is just the start (of Tasting Australia) – get out to our regions, visit a farm and meet the producer, enjoy a wine masterclass or personalised tasting with the winemaker, harvest olives, make sausages or discover a regional gem,” Bryant said.

The Adelaide Hills will host 10 events during Tasting Australia including a Fresh Wine Disco with resident winemaker, Wine & Spirits Magazine Top 100 alumna and Tasting Australia ambassador Taras Ochota.

Other events in the Adelaide Hills include the chance to taste some hidden treasure from the 165-year-old Mt Lofty House cellar followed by a degustation from chef Wayne Brown during The Story of Valley to Verandah on 7 May. Festival-goers can also join a tasting summary of the 2017 vintage before a ‘meet the maker’ style food origin discussion over a five-course lunch in The Lane Vineyard’s Dining Room at The Lane ‘Provenance’ event on 5 May.
